Encinitas, California

So we finally took our first vacation in 1.5 years... Destination: Encinitas, CA. We had a great time with Braydon's family (they moved down there 2 months ago), we shopped, went to the Beach several times, and just enjoyed our time together. It is so beautiful there, with the perfect weather at 75 degrees. Wish we could have stayed there for another week, but hopefully we'll go back soon!

Rough Night

Well, to say the least, yesterday was quite the day. It started 3 days ago with some chest pain on my right side, which landed me a visit to the Doc 1pm on Thursday. After an Ultra Sound and 2 very traumatizing blood tests we headed home to what we thought would be a movie night of waiting... well around 9:30 p.m. we get a call for us to head to the ER; apparently my blood levels were off just enough for there to be a "blood clot" alert. So we packed a small back and planned for an overnight stay. We checked in and got back to a small room where I slipped into a gown and waited, again. Turned out that I needed an I.V. for the upcoming CT Scan... it took 6 attempts to finally get the I.V. in and I can honestly say, it was the most painful thing I've endured so far in my life. Shaking, tears, and pain completely took over. I prayed so hard and Brade kept rubbing my arm and kissing my face while telling me how tough I was. The Scan was easy and painless- only the Iodine left me warm and feeling as though I'd wet myself. The results came back negate to Blood Clots and Gal Bladder problems, so we found that it was a Pluric Nogule in the wall between my chest and lung. Apparently Tylenol and IBprofen will do the trick with lots of rest.
Today I am grateful for Husbands that bring comfort and so much love, and for prayers that keep us strong. For the medical field and their Intelligence and care, and for loving family members who have taken care of us. Love to everyone...

Another Year Bites the Dust

This past year has flown by, and I can't believe I'm 22! It feels like I just celebrated 21 and blew out the candles, but here we are again, only 1 year wiser...
I just wanted to tell everyone thank you for making it such a special day. Jamie & Sarah- thank you for lunch and for your sweet gifts. To Brade for always making me feel so great, but for making my birthday extra special. He wrote "Happy 22" on the cake and everything- pretty impressed. (Paris Hilton b-day card too...) To everyone who sent emails, cards, or called, Thank you! You made it a wonderful day! (Oh- and Happy Birthday to my TWIN Mandi!)

I think that's a YES...

So Drew popped the question last night to Stephie and now it's official! Drew called Brade and I and asked if we would hide at the BYU softball fields and take some pictures of the proposal. So we laid ourselves on the cement under the bleachers and waited. Out they came, and after a short stretch and warm up, they played some catch. 10 minutes later, Drew overthrew some passes and Steph ran to get them. Drew quickly put the ring box into his pocket and kept playing. Then he secretly switched the box for the ball and threw it out to her. She stood there shocked and then picked it up as he walked over and got down on his knee. It was so neat to be a part of that and see the excitement first hand. Love is definitely in the air...
